A rapid progress has been made in all branches of science and technology over the past two decades. This study evaluates the SCIENTIFIC OUTPUT of Iran in this period. Methods: The data used in this article have been extracted from ISI-Thomsonâ database using Rose-net information network on the Internet. Science production in Iran has been reviewed from 1970 to 2002 and compared with 15 other countries. Results: Science OUTPUT in Iran had a rising trend from 1970 to 1980; however, it declined and then remained steady as the Iraqi war was imposed on Iran, until it gained a sharp rising trend again some years after the war. A comparison of Iran with other 15 countries until the year 2000 shows that these 16 countries in total have 69.2% of the science OUTPUT of the world in ISI. The United States, Britain and Germany stand atop the list with 33.2, 7.8 and 7 percent, respectively, and Iran with 0.12% stands on thirteenth place among these 16 countries. China, India, and South Korea maintain a considerable difference and a relatively higher position in terms of SCIENTIFIC OUTPUT as compared with Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, Kuwait and Iraq. Iran is ahead of Pakistan, Kuwait and Iraq, which produce a cumulative 0.16% of the science among these 16 countries. Comparing the ratio of science OUTPUT to GNP, Iran stands on thirteenth place among 16 countries in the year 2000.Conclusion: Iran has had a considerable growth in presenting articles after the Iraq-Iran war, which marks the period of stability and development.

Abstract:

The broad financial research and unusual phenomena and exceptions in the stock market and investment decision making that common models in modern investment theories failed to represent them, was caused researchers is led to behavioral theories.Technical analyses as a method to analyze stock which was arised by Dow pays attention to the trend of prices to decision making and investing and has offered a key and practical solution to evaluation and to gain returns in short term, however for a weakness in SCIENTIFIC base, it doesn’t have an academic fundament. In the late past decade the new branch of finance that is a composition of psychological and social theories with finance theories has been born and could be a new base for the technical analyses. In this paper some behavioral finance theories which is related to assumptions of the technical analyses, like Prospect Theory, Accessibility, Salience Loss Aversion and Regret theory, is suggested and analyzed and on this base, the paper present a behavioral modeling framework which examines the existence of unusual noisy investors in Tehran Exchange Stock. The existence such a noise in the market is caused that behavioral modeling would be proper case to analyze stock and to predict the trend of market prices. The results show evidence from existence of predictable trends related to behavioral finance in Tehran Exchange Stock that can prove the appropriate prediction behavioral models in the market and presents a sound defensible base to technical analyses in Iranian stock market.

Abstract:

Scientometrics indicators are used to assess scientists, universities, and research institutes for SCIENTIFIC policy-making. The aim of this research was to assess the status of top Iranian medical researchers using scientometric indicators. The study was carried out using scientometric methods. The statistical population included the top 500 Iranian researchers in the field of medicine who were ranked in the Iranian Scientometric Information Database (ISID) based on some scientometric indicators. The data were analyzed using SPSS 22 software and Pearson's correlation coefficient, stepwise regression analysis, and Chi-square tests were applied for data analysis. Findings revealed that each researcher had an average h index of 24.04, g index of 40.15, and i10 index of 90.79. There was a positive significant relationship between the number of internationally-collaborated papers and the number of citations received (r = .606, p<.01). The stepwise multiple regression analysis showed that the three variables of paper number, citation counts and mean citation rate determined 72% of the changes in the h-index. It can be concluded that researchers publishing more papers are more likely to be cited. However, their scientometric indexes are not always better than those of other scientists.
